About the event
Live at The Shoe: Dirty Kennels Doors: 5 PM
Music: 5:30 PM
Join us for an intimate listening-room evening with Dirty Kennels, Rochester's genre-defying five-piece. They blend flamenco guitar, cello and hand percussion with modern rock vocals, and the result is bold, soulful and hard to put in a box.
Roo leads on vocals. He's a former American Ninja Warrior and lifelong dog rescuer, and his life gave the band its name. Steven plays nylon-string classical guitar shaped by rock, soul, salsa, tango and Colombian folk. Nick, the percussionist and poet, switches between cajón, doumbek and full kit. Mark is the bassist with a natural feel for groove who's happy counting in 11. Travis, the cellist, trained on Bach and adds the quiet emotional depth under it all.
In a room this small, you'll hear every breath, string and drumbeat. Grab a drink, settle in, and catch a band that's equal…
