Pull up a chair for a night of old-timey string music, Rochester style. The Walking Beat String Band plays folk and string-band music with deep roots. Their influences run from Doc Watson, Bill Monroe, Johnny Cash and Bob Dylan to modern favorites like Trampled By Turtles, Charlie Parr, The Avett Brothers and Greensky Bluegrass.
You may have caught them sharing the bill with Jeremy Jewell & The Co-Dependents at Treedome, or on the barn stage at Squash Blossom Farm. Their originals include "The Man Who Forgot to Die," and their sound balances tradition and fresh energy with plenty of picking, harmony and heart.
